Yamamoto Hosui, one of the open-minded and innovative painting artists, with an artist Kuroda Seiki who was admirable to him, dominantly led Japanese art towards a new wave in term of introducing Yoga to Japanese art circle. Let us take Yamamoto Hosui as the case, his early painting style attributed to Nanga, which originated from a sort of Chinese traditional painting called Wenrenhua, also known as Bunjinga in Japanese. However, after his overseas studies in Paris, there was a huge transition on his painting style that made his work more western looking. He also taught French drawing technique especially of
Barbizon School in Japan while he returned to Japan. Some features of Hosui’s works actually came from
