    Yeah, it's bugged for me, too. Several quests are. Unfortunately Bethesda has made a habit of making their games so large that they just can't be bothered with thorough bug-fixes.

    My experience: I went to Faldor's Tooth and cleared it. I found a book entitled "Silver Hand Plans" or something to that extent. I couldn't read it and it didn't even register as a book... it was under "Misc." in my inventory. Neither did it register as a quest item and I simply got rid of it after it spent far too long sitting in a chest in my house. It isn't necessary to complete the quest in order to progress the Companions quest line, though. I really wish that they would have given us the ability to DROP QUESTS. I'm betting a lot of bugs could be taken care of if we could just clear the quest from the log and start over, have the quest item placement reset etc.. Not to mention, I'm sick of picking up quest items that I don't have the quest for. They just sit in your inventory and some of them actually weigh something, and you can't store them, not even in your own house. That's some amount of ridiculous.

    Let's hope that Bethesda gets a patch out to fix the LUDICROUS amount of glitched quests in this game.
