Narcissism however requires supply to function (unlike what most people would call self love) this is called narcissistic supply. Be it followers on instagram, or something else. Anything that involves attention.

My take on female narcissism is that deep within the womans mind she knows that she is nothing. There is no personality inside her shell.

There are no interests or hobbies to distract her from this nagging void she feels every waking moment. She will never enjoy the fullness of life or fully understand most things that dont involve climbing the social latter.

This would cause an unbearable inner pain to any normal person, so naturally her subconsious combats this by giving her an inflated distorted sense of herself (something similar happens with sufferers of ASPD or sufferers of the dunning-kruger effect) "She is not like those other girls"
"She can get any man she wants if she just wears makeup and pretend to be someone she isnt"
However narcissism as mentioned before will fall apart without regular refueling. This is where the more nasty side of female narcissism comes into play.

As mentioned before any form of attention can function as narcissistic supply to the narcissist. Whether good or nor bad.

This explains why a women will start a fight just to get the rooms attention, or cause drama just to focus all eyes on her. Women literally need attention to function.
