    abstract
    one of the branches of image processing is computer vision which is constantly developed and increasingly used in daily life. it serves solutions for problems such as pattern recognition, reading hand-writing, face and fingerprint recognition. in this paper, we talk about our solution for pattern recognition problem is called caterpillar decomposition and its advantages on path-base indexing approach and gindex approach. we use white-black (background is black, a two dimensions-silhouette of object is white),images in “bmp” format as inputs and each images created by rotating each objects on vertical axis two degrees at a time.
